Design and Features
The SPMT is a combination of two individual units; a trailer unit and power pack unit (PPU). The trailer unit houses the wheels and the carriage compartment while the power pack unit houses the SPMT’s engine. The trailer unit may comprise 4, 5, 6, or 8 axle lines.
SPMT has the capacity to accommodate a maximum load of 44 tons per axle line. Thus, the higher the number of axle lines, the greater the capacity of your SPMT module. According to the manufacturers, the units interlock perfectly and they can be joined together in a wide variety of configurations.
Rotating wheels
Unlike conventional lifting equipment, all the wheels of the SPMT steer 360 degrees. This offers an endless possibility of movement configurations. The SPMT is capable of driving forward, backward, sideways, diagonally, through a radius, and even through a carousel. This greatly simplifies the process of moving heavy equipment from one site to another.
Single operator
The SPMT does not require an active driver. The device is controlled via a central panel. A single operator is needed to drive the SPMT irrespective of the number of axle lines that have been joined together. This increases efficiency and effectiveness at sites that require lifting and transporting heavy equipment and packages.
Adjustable loading surface
The loading surface normally has a height of 1200mm. However, it can be adjusted to a maximum height of 1800mm. This allows for lifting and setting down loads onto supports without using auxiliary lifting equipment.
Hydraulic suspension system
The SPMT is designed to operate seamlessly on both smooth and bumpy roads. The equipment comes with a hydraulic suspension system that ensures the load remains balanced on the trailer even while driving on tilted road surfaces. The wheels also automatically adjust to any bump in the road surface. Rest assured, the load on the trailer would be kept level under all circumstances. The only limitation is that SPMT is only ideal for on-site transportation over short distances.
