The Mod Easy SideCar Sahara Limited Edition ebike combines the rugged charm of vintage motorcycles with contemporary electric bike technology. Drawing inspiration from the WWII-era BMW R75 motorcycle, this limited-edition model sports a unique sand-beige desert camouflage, reminiscent of the classic military aesthetic. The Austin-based Mod Bikes has crafted this model not only as a visual throwback but as a functional and fun addition to the modern ebike landscape.
“We have transformed our headliner Easy SideCar into a playful, one-of-a-kind ride designed for maximum fun – for you and your copilot,” said Mod Bikes founder, Dor Korngold. “Our limited edition isn’t just a bike – it’s an invitation to explore, create memories, and ride in style with your favorite copilot.”
Design and features
The Sahara Limited Edition is an upgraded version of Mod Bikes’ Easy SideCar model. True to its vintage inspiration, this ebike is enhanced with a moto-style dual-crown suspension fork at the front, providing a smoother ride and lending a sturdier, classic look. The ebike also features a rear cargo rack, dual headlights on the sidecar, and an extended frame that ensures a balanced, stylish profile.
A notable upgrade is the sidecar itself, which now boasts a first-ever “doggie door,” designed specifically for pets to hop in with ease. Inside, the sidecar is equipped with a removable padded seat and seatbelt, accommodating not only pets but also a child or a small adult. This thoughtful addition gives the sidecar a versatile edge, allowing riders to carry up to 400 pounds (181.5 kg) of combined payload between the bike and the sidecar.

Power and performance
The Mod Easy SideCar Sahara ebike is powered by a 750-W rear-hub motor, generating 69 Nm (50 lb.ft) of torque. Riders can choose from five levels of pedal-assist, allowing a top speed of up to 28 mph (45 km/h). For quick starts or leg-saving rides, a thumb throttle is included, delivering a bit of extra punch when needed. A responsive torque sensor adds to the bike’s intuitive handling, making acceleration smoother and more controlled.
This Sahara edition is equipped with a 720-Wh removable battery, made with safety-certified Samsung cells (UL 2271 compliance), concealed within a “fuel tank.” Depending on terrain, ride style, and load, this battery provides up to 100 miles (160 km) per charge, making it ideal for longer adventures. Charging takes between three and six hours, depending on the power source used.

Gearing and braking
For varied terrain and riding styles, the Mod Easy Sahara is fitted with a Shimano Altus 7-speed gearset. The bike rides on 24-inch wheels wrapped in 3-inch CST fat tires, providing stability and traction on different surfaces. Braking is managed by dual-piston hydraulic brakes with 180-mm rotors, ensuring effective stopping power under different loads and speeds.
Additional features for comfort and safety
The Mod Easy SideCar Sahara doesn’t skimp on comfort or safety. It comes with a wide-beam LED headlight for visibility in low-light conditions and an integrated braking tail-light for added security on the road. Riders can also connect wirelessly to a Lumos smart helmet, which synchronizes with the bike to provide turn signaling and brake lighting.

Other quality-of-life features include a faux leather Selle Royal gel saddle, ergonomically designed faux leather grips, a sturdy kickstand, and aluminum fenders. Multiple mounting points are strategically placed around the aluminum frame, allowing riders to customize their setup with various accessories.
