Foil. One, a Finnish company focused on electric watercraft innovation, has recently unveiled its flagship product, the Pegasus, a sleek single-passenger electric hydrofoil boat. Designed to combine performance, sustainability, and striking aesthetics, the Pegasus is now available for pre-order. With its eye-catching design and advanced engineering, this boat promises an exciting experience for water enthusiasts.
The Pegasus is built entirely from carbon fiber, a material known for its durability and light weight. This construction allows the hydrofoil to glide smoothly above the water, reducing drag and increasing efficiency. The boat is powered by an 18.8 kW electric motor, which runs on two swappable 5 kWh 48V battery packs from Torqeedo, a company specializing in electric propulsion systems. The batteries offer a convenient solution for extended usage, as they can be quickly swapped out when needed.
Performance-wise, the Pegasus offers impressive speed and range. It can cruise between 18 and 20 knots (20.7-23 mph) and has a top speed of 30 knots (34.5 mph), making it one of the faster electric boats in its class. A full battery charge provides a range of over two hours on the water, offering plenty of time to enjoy a smooth ride. Recharging the batteries is a quick process, thanks to Torqeedo’s 2,900W fast charger, which can fully recharge the boat in under two hours. This minimizes downtime, ensuring that users can return to the water swiftly after charging or swapping out batteries.
The design of the Pegasus takes inspiration from the aerodynamics of 1950s Formula 1 cars and World War I aircraft, resulting in a visually striking profile that stands out on the water. While its aesthetics may draw attention, Foil. One emphasizes that the performance is just as important. The company states that the Pegasus is easy to operate, with the experience feeling more akin to piloting a fighter jet than a traditional hydrofoil boat.

Foil. One’s focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship is a key part of its mission. As the company mentions on its website, it aims to “innovate, inspire, and create a sustainable future where adventure and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.” The Pegasus embodies this goal by providing a fun, eco-friendly alternative to traditional motorized boats, which often rely on fossil fuels and contribute to pollution.

Pre-orders for the Pegasus are now open, with customizable options available to suit individual preferences. The starting price for the vessel is 139,900 euros ($150,990). For those who opt for the full package, which includes two battery packs and the fast charger, the price rises to 150,502 euros ($162,435).
With the Pegasus, Foil. One is making its mark in the growing market for electric marine vehicles, offering an exciting blend of cutting-edge technology, sustainable energy, and stylish design.
