Australian builder Konpak Tiny Homes has introduced The Jordy, a 7.2-meter (approximately 24-foot) tiny house that focuses on functional design and compact living. Built on a triple-axle trailer, the home balances durability and aesthetic appeal with its combination of galvanized steel and wood finishes. A fold-out wooden deck extends the living area, while large bi-fold glass doors help blur the boundary between indoor and outdoor space.
Inside, the layout is organized to make the most of the limited floor area. The living room is surprisingly spacious for a tiny home of this size, with a sofa, coffee table, high ceiling, and extensive glazing that invites natural light. Adjacent to the living area is the kitchen, which is fitted with a breakfast bar for two, a sink, a fridge/freezer, a propane-powered stove with oven, and an array of cabinets and shelves for storage.
Behind the kitchen is a compact but well-equipped bathroom. It includes a vanity sink, a shower, and a flushing toilet. One of the more distinctive features of The Jordy is the folding staircase developed by Bcompact. Designed to save floor space, this wall-mounted stair system folds out only when needed, allowing clear access to the bathroom behind it. While the folding mechanism may not appeal to everyone, it’s a functional solution to the spatial constraints.
The staircase leads to the loft-style bedroom. Like most tiny house lofts, it has a low ceiling, but it includes a double bed and more storage tucked into the sides.
Priced at AUD125,000 (approximately US$75,000), The Jordy is available for purchase, with optional upgrades like full off-grid capabilities offered at an additional cost. As Konpak notes, “We’re all about designing homes that make smart use of space without sacrificing livability.”
