Worknic, designed by Seokoo Yeo, Woojin Jang, and Dowan Kim, provides an innovative way for Generation Z workers to embrace outdoor work environments. The centerpiece of this project is the Worknic Desk, a mobile, energy-providing workstation that can be set up virtually anywhere outside, offering a picnic-like workspace.
This flexibility caters to modern workers who seek a change of scenery without the need for long-term planning or travel. It makes the Worknic Desk a practical option for daily use, allowing workers to balance productivity with a refreshing environment.
The demand for adaptable workspaces has increased significantly following the pandemic, as many workers have grown accustomed to the autonomy of remote work. While some companies are encouraging a return to the office, the need for flexible work options remains strong.
The Worknic Desk addresses this need by providing a mobile solution that allows users to stay productive while enjoying the outdoors. Unlike the more time-consuming concept of “Workation,” which involves combining work and travel, Worknic offers a simpler alternative, allowing users to refresh their work environment daily.

The Worknic Desk was developed through the Samsung Design Membership program and sponsored by Samsung Electronics. It caters specifically to the needs of “refresh workers,” a term used to describe a new segment of Generation Z workers expected to emerge by the 2030s.
These workers are characterized by their desire to enhance productivity through varied work environments. Worknic provides a solution by allowing users to easily change their workspace, offering both flexibility and a refreshing experience in line with the evolving work culture.

By blending outdoor environments with modern productivity tools, Worknic presents a practical and innovative approach to remote work, catering to the growing demand for more dynamic and adaptable workspaces.
