BULLBAR 2.0: A foldable, freestanding pull-up and dip station built for small spaces

The BULLBAR 2.0 is a portable home-gym frame that tries to settle a familiar trade-off: equipment that’s stable enough for real training usually isn’t easy to move or store, and gear that packs away usually wobbles. BULLBAR’s answer is a freestanding steel pull-up bar and dip station that folds flat, needs no assembly, and doesn’t attach to a wall or doorframe.

It’s aimed at people who want to train pull-ups, dips, push-ups, and core and band work at home but don’t want a permanent power tower taking over a room.

What it is

BULLBAR 2.0 is a freestanding, foldable pull-up bar and dip station. It requires no drilling, no bolts, and no doorway mount, and the company says it sets up or folds down in under a minute using a quick-release toggle-latch system. Folded, it has a carry handle and is meant to slide under a bed, into a closet, or into most compact car trunks.

The frame uses an “open portal” design — no center post or back pad beneath the bar — so there’s unobstructed space for a full range of motion. The current version uses a straight pull-up bar; the company notes it has moved away from its earlier bent-bar design.

  • Pull-up bar width: 36 inches (3 ft / about 91 cm)
  • Pull-up bar diameter: 31.5 mm (about 1.24 in)
  • Dip bar diameter: 33.5 mm (about 1.32 in)
  • Dip bar spacing: 21–24 inches (about 53–61 cm), adjustable

The company says the frame was tested under a 400-lb load for more than 1,200 continuous repetition cycles. It’s secured by four heavy-duty reinforced safety pins, offers multiple adjustable bar heights, and includes built-in resistance-band anchors. BULLBAR lists support for more than 100 different exercises and three dip/push-up bar height settings.

A taller model, the BULLBAR 2.0 EXT, adds height-extension capability for a maximum height of 94.5 inches (7 ft 10.5 in / about 240 cm) and is otherwise described as identical.

What’s in the box

Each order includes the BULLBAR 2.0 frame, two dip/push-up bars, four safety pins, and free access to the company’s online fitness platform. That platform includes a 20-day foundational strength program, step-by-step instructional videos, follow-along classes, community access, and content updated monthly, usable on mobile and desktop.

Who’s using it

BULLBAR states that its products have been purchased by official U.S. Navy and Air Force Special Warfare recruiting commands — the groups responsible for identifying and preparing future SEAL, SWCC, EOD, and Air Force Special Warfare candidates.

The company is careful to qualify that claim. Its own disclaimer states that BULLBAR is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Armed Forces or any branch, and that such purchases do not imply endorsement. In other words, the gear has been bought and used by those units, but that isn’t a military endorsement of the product.

On the customer side, the product page lists 703 reviews. One reviewer, who describes himself as 6 feet 3 inches and about 250 pounds, reported that the frame holds his weight with “no sway or anything like that.”

The taller BULLBAR 2.0 EXT extends to nearly 8 feet for users who need additional pull-up height.

Limitations worth noting

A few practical caveats stand out. At 46 pounds, the folded unit is portable but not featherlight to carry any real distance. The 400-lb durability figure is the manufacturer’s own testing rather than an independent certification. And the company explicitly states the BULLBAR 2.0 is not suitable for kipping-style pull-ups, which rules out a common CrossFit movement.

Pricing and availability

The BULLBAR 2.0 is listed at US$399, while the BULLBAR 2.0 EXT costs US$499. The purchase includes free 3–5 day U.S. shipping, with 95% of orders shipped the same day when placed before 2 p.m. EST. The company also lists Canada delivery in about 4–7 days and says it stocks EU and UK warehouses for those regions. Backing the sale are a 100-day money-back trial with a no-hassle full refund and a lifetime warranty.
