Massage guns, foam rollers, and compression boots have all become popular recovery tools, but they each come with compromises. Massage guns require you to aim and hold them, foam rolling can be uncomfortable, and many recovery devices focus on compression rather than deep rolling pressure.
Therabot takes a different approach.
Designed as a hands-free robotic leg massager, the device surrounds the leg with motorized rollers that move automatically from the ankle to the thigh while the user simply sits back and relaxes. Instead of relying on vibration or air compression, it uses controlled rolling pressure that travels along the muscles, aiming to recreate the feel of a traditional massage without requiring another person.
A massage robot that moves on its own
The defining feature of Therabot is its ability to travel along the leg autonomously.
Users place one leg inside the device, start a massage program, and the robot glides from the ankle to the thigh—including across the knee—while maintaining contact with the leg throughout the session. Speed and pressure can be adjusted, allowing users to tailor each massage to their comfort level.

Unlike handheld devices, there is no need to constantly reposition the massager or hold it in place. The movement is fully motorized, allowing the massage to continue while the user remains seated.
Rolling pressure instead of percussion
Many portable massagers rely on rapid percussion or vibration to stimulate muscles.
Therabot instead focuses on slow, rolling pressure.
The company says this approach is designed to provide visible movement across the leg rather than quick impacts, creating a massage experience that feels closer to manual massage than a typical massage gun.
The device surrounds the leg with multiple rollers, allowing pressure to be applied from several contact points at once instead of a single massage head.
How Therabot works
Inside the device are two separate motor systems.
Tension motors expand and contract the massage ring, pressing the rollers into the leg with controlled force. Separate roller motors then drive the device up and down the leg while maintaining continuous contact with the muscles.
According to Therabot, users can adjust pressure levels up to 25 pounds (11.3 kg), along with massage speed and treatment zones using the companion app.

The app also unlocks additional massage presets and customization, although users can simply press the onboard button to repeat their previous massage session without opening the app.
AI-guided massage sessions
Another feature that sets Therabot apart is its software.
The company describes the system as being guided by an AI massage expert that adapts sessions based on the user’s body, discomfort, and recovery goals. Rather than manually selecting every setting, users can choose guided routines designed for different recovery needs.
Those who prefer a simpler experience can still use the device without relying heavily on the app.
Customizable massage feel
Therabot isn’t limited to a single massage style.
The company says users can swap between more than nine roller options, allowing the massage to feel smoother, softer, deeper, or more targeted depending on personal preference.
Combined with adjustable speed and pressure, this allows users to customize the overall experience instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all massage.
Designed for everyday recovery
While athletes are an obvious audience, Therabot is designed for a broader range of users.
The company says the device is intended for:
- Athletes recovering after training
- Active adults
- People who spend long hours on their feet
- Older adults looking for an easier way to massage their legs at home

Because the massage is fully hands-free, users don’t need to lean over, hold a device, or constantly reposition it throughout a session.
Battery life
For portable use, the Extended Range version offers up to 2 hours of battery life on a charge, according to the company.
That makes it suitable for multiple massage sessions before needing to recharge.
Pricing and availability
Therabot is currently offered in two versions: Core and Plus. Both provide the same fundamental hands-free rolling massage system, with adjustable pressure and speed. The higher-tier option is positioned as the extended-range model, offering up to two hours of battery-powered massage.
Current pre-order pricing is:
- Therabot Core: US$499
- Therabot Plus: US$649
According to the company, the first 1,000 pre-orders are expected to ship in September 2026. Pre-orders are fully refundable before shipment, and free shipping is available within the continental United States.
A different take on at-home recovery
Recovery technology has evolved rapidly over the past decade, but most products still require users to actively operate them.
Therabot takes a different approach by automating the massage itself.
With motorized rollers that travel from ankle to thigh, adjustable pressure and speed, AI-guided massage programs, and a fully hands-free design, it aims to make leg massage feel less like another task and more like a chance to simply sit back and relax.

Whether it becomes a staple for athletes or simply a convenient recovery tool for anyone with tired legs, Therabot represents an interesting new direction in consumer wellness technology.
