In a world where tech advancements are developing at breakneck speed, Samsung is setting a new bar with the introduction of the “first OLED monitor to offer Dual Quad High Definition”. The tech giant has announced that the 49-inch curved Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor is now available for pre-order, offering gamers an unparalleled visual experience.

The Odyssey OLED G9 was first announced at CES 2023 in January. With a super-quick 240-Hz refresh rate and an exceptional 0.03-ms response time, Samsung’s new offering promises to cater to even the most experienced gamers’ needs and expectations. The monitor features a curvature of 1800R, enhancing immersion and providing a panoramic view of the gaming arena.

As the first monitor to offer Dual Quad High Definition (DQHD; 5,120 x 1,440) resolution, the Odyssey OLED G9 essentially integrates two QHD-resolution screens side by side, resulting in a stunning 32:9 aspect ratio. The G9 model, specifically the G95SC variant, utilizes the Neo Quantum Processor Pro to provide algorithm-based auto upscaling and brightness adjustment, delivering improved detail and game-play experience.

The Odyssey OLED G9 comes packed with Smart TV apps, allowing users to stream entertainment without the need to cable up a PC or mobile device. In addition, Samsung’s Gaming Hub platform offers a space for discovering and streaming games, including titles from Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now. The G95SC supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA Adaptive Sync, ensuring a smooth, stutter-free gaming experience.

Samsung’s ultra-wide display features a range of connectivity options, including full-size and micro HDMI 2.1 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a triple-port USB hub. Integrated stereo speakers and Core Lighting+ add to the immersive experience, matching onscreen colors for an enriched visual encounter.

The G95SC is priced at $2,199.99, with Samsung offering a $250 credit for the pre-order period, making the deal more enticing for early adopters.

In addition to the G95SC, Samsung has also unveiled a second model, the G93SC, which does not include the Neo Quantum processor, Gaming Hub, or Smart TV features. This version also lacks voice assistance and multi-view functionalities, among other features. While Samsung has not yet disclosed pricing for the G93SC, the company has announced global availability beginning from Q3.
