The Rubishack, developed by Rubitracks, a Canadian company, redefines the concept of tiny houses with its unique combination of mobility and ruggedness. Unlike typical tiny homes that are stationary or built on trailers, the Rubishack comes with its own engine and is equipped with off-road tracks, allowing it to navigate through the most challenging terrains. It blends the features of a motorhome and a tiny house, creating a versatile living solution for adventure enthusiasts.
At its core, the Rubishack is based on a heavily modified truck chassis, powered by a first-generation Cummins engine. This engine has seen substantial use, having logged around 240,000 kilometers (approximately 150,000 miles). However, the vehicle’s real distinguishing feature is its four bolt-on tracks, manufactured by Rubitracks. These tracks provide four-wheel-drive—or more accurately, four-track-drive—capabilities, allowing the Rubishack to traverse rivers, snow, mud, and even beaches with ease.
Measuring 16 feet (4.8 meters) in length and 7 feet (2.1 meters) in width, the Rubishack offers a compact yet functional living space. The house portion is constructed from wood and features generous glazing, providing ample natural light. A unique addition is the planter situated at the front of the house, adding a touch of greenery to its rugged exterior.
Inside, the interior design is straightforward but practical. The seats for the driver and passenger are repurposed from an old 1970s motorhome and have the ability to swivel 360 degrees, enhancing the flexibility of the space. The double bed is innovatively placed at the front, right behind the driving area, while a seating area and table are positioned behind the driver’s seat.

Despite its impressive design and capabilities, the Rubishack is not intended for mass production or commercial sale. Rubitracks developed this unique vehicle primarily as a promotional tool, showcasing their engineering prowess and ability to innovate within the tiny house and motorhome spaces. Rubitracks is currently offering advertising space on the Rubishack’s exterior walls. Interested parties are encouraged to contact them through their website for more information.
