The World Health Organization estimates that there are about 360,000 annual drowning deaths all over the world. This makes drowning the third leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide. OneUp is a simple device that is designed to provide on-the-go safety for any water activity. Whether you’re going for a fishing trip, pool day, vacation by the beach or any other water activity, OneUp provides the peace of mind you need to enjoy your marine experience. The device is portable and can easily fit into your backpack, beach bag, and even your glove compartment.
Design and Features
OneUp is a rugged, portable device that is made from Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). This material is known for its excellent elasticity and resistance to abrasion. OneUp comes with the perfect weight and size for throwing. It doesn’t get blown off course by strong wind or currents. Simply toss it in the direction of anyone that needs help and they can hold on to it as a flotation device.
The Inflation Process
OneUp inflates once it comes in contact with water. The inflation technology employs a sensor that activates the device’s salt pod. The sensor employed has enjoyed widespread use in naval and aeronautical security. Its sensitivity is not up for debate. Once the salt pod is dissolved, a spring is released. The spring, in turn, triggers the opening of the CO2 cartridge and the gas released inflates the tube. The inflation process does not take more than 2 seconds! OneUp inflates well on both freshwater and saltwater. As long as there is enough water to dissolve the salt pod, you can trust one-up to act as the perfect life preserver.
Once you buy your OneUp, you do not need to purchase another life preserver for at least another four years. You can reuse the device as many times as you need to. All you have to do is replace the dissolved salt pod and CO2 cartridge after every use. To reuse your OneUp:
- Twist on the new CO2 cartridge
- Replace the salt pod
- Fold the floatation back up
- Pack your device back in its container
You can place an order for OneUp via the official website. The single pack costs €99. The rearming kit is also available for purchase.
