BMW Motorrad Austria has teamed up with custom motorcycle builders, Vagabund Moto, to create an innovative electric scooter concept aimed at urban dwellers who value both style and functionality. Dubbed the “BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept,” this e-scooter showcases a unique modern design tailored to a youthful and energetic audience, while retaining the impressive technical capabilities of the original BMW CE 04 model.
The scooter’s minimalistic body features a striking color scheme of white, dark green, beige, and black, accented with bold orange highlights. Adding a playful touch, a smiley face adorns the front wheel hub and is echoed in a transparent cover with a smiley face cutout over the indicator lights. This fresh and modern design is sure to capture the attention of users who are young at heart.
In addition to its eye-catching appearance, the e-scooter is designed with functionality in mind. It includes an enlarged top functional case for extra storage, an integrated surfboard transport system, and a BMW-branded surfboard created by Noa Surfboards. The design team aimed to seamlessly blend urban lifestyle aesthetics with practicality in this sporty and modern silhouette.
The collaboration between BMW Motorrad Austria in Salzburg and Vagabund Moto GmbH in Graz was driven by a vision to create a stylish, multifunctional e-scooter for urban commuters. Combining creative inspiration, genuine craftsmanship, and a pioneering spirit, these two companies have crafted a concept where “Action meets Fashion.”
Oliver Balzer, head of BMW Motorrad Austria, explains that the surfboard is more than just sports equipment; it symbolizes a sustainable urban lifestyle. He says, “The BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept combines work, leisure and individual flair, demonstrating that there needs to be no contradiction between any of these areas.”
The e-scooter retains the technical prowess of the original BMW CE 04, boasting a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp), dynamic acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, and a range of 130 km on a single charge. With a top speed of 120 km/h, the electric motor powers this sleek vehicle. Additionally, fast-charging capabilities enable users to charge the scooter up to 80% in a mere 65 minutes.
Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund Moto GmbH, speaks about the philosophy behind the Moto Concept: “Everyone defines the mobility of the future in their own individual way. With the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept, we now present our own idea of a stylish and multifunctional urban e-scooter that shows just how mobility needs are as individual as each personality. We haven’t reinvented the wheel, but we have taken a new look at function. We call it drawing on the synergies between functionality and aesthetics in a way that is suitable for everyday use.”
With its distinctive design, practical features, and remarkable performance, the BMW CE 04 Vagabund Moto Concept e-scooter is set to make a splash among urban commuters looking for an eco-friendly and fashionable mode of transportation.
