Ondaflo’s Drop-Stitch inflatable pools offer frame-free rigidity for modern backyards

Traditional above-ground pools often involve bulky metal frames, lengthy assembly, and significant storage space when summer ends. Ondaflo, a Polish company based in Konin, takes a different approach with a range of inflatable garden pools built using Drop-Stitch technology. Instead of metal supports, thousands of internal fibers create rigid walls once inflated, allowing the pools to hold thousands of liters of water while remaining portable and easy to store.

Originally developed for inflatable paddleboards and kayaks, Drop-Stitch construction gives these pools the appearance and stability of a permanent above-ground pool without requiring a permanent installation.

Who makes it?

Ondaflo operates as Ondaflo sp. z o.o., a Polish company headquartered in Konin, Poland. The company sells directly through its online store and ships to 13 European countries, including Poland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

How the pools work

Rather than relying on a steel or plastic frame, each Ondaflo pool uses two layers of durable PVC connected by thousands of internal polyester threads. As the pool inflates, these threads pull tight, creating rigid, self-supporting walls capable of holding large volumes of water.

The walls are 15 cm (about 6 in) thick across the entire range, making them noticeably more solid than conventional inflatable ring pools. With no metal components, there’s also no risk of frame corrosion.

Ondaflo Inflatable Pools Setup
Setup requires just four steps: unfold the pool, inflate it, fill it with water, and it’s ready for swimming.

Setup is straightforward:

  • Unfold the pool.
  • Inflate it using a hand or electric pump.
  • Fill it with water.
  • Start swimming.

No tools or permanent installation are required. When the season ends, the pool deflates and folds compactly enough to fit inside a car for transport or storage.

Six models across three shapes

Ondaflo currently offers six pool models in round, square, and rectangular designs.

The round range includes:

  • Ø 2 m × 0.5 m (6.6 × 1.6 ft)
  • Ø 3 m × 1 m (9.8 × 3.3 ft)
  • Ø 3.5 m × 1.2 m (11.5 × 3.9 ft)
  • Ø 4.5 m × 1.2 m (14.8 × 3.9 ft)

The square model measures 2 × 2 × 0.8 m (6.6 × 6.6 × 2.6 ft), while the rectangular version measures 3 × 2 × 0.8 m (9.8 × 6.6 × 2.6 ft). According to the company, the 3.5 m round and 3 × 2 m rectangular models are among its bestsellers.

Every model features the same Drop-Stitch PVC construction and includes:

  • Hand pump
  • Oxford 210D pool cover
  • PVC repair kit
  • Air valve wrench
  • Filtration adapters
  • User manual in 12 languages

Capacity and specifications

The larger models illustrate the range’s capabilities well.

The Ø 3.5 m round pool stands 1.2 m (47 in) high, has a recommended water depth of 95 cm (37 in), and holds 7,700 liters (about 2,034 U.S. gallons) at an 85% fill level.

The flagship Ø 4.5 m model has the same height and recommended water depth but increases capacity to 13,300 liters (about 3,514 U.S. gallons).

At the smaller end of the lineup, the 2 × 2 m square pool is 0.8 m (31 in) tall, has a recommended water depth of 65 cm (26 in), and holds 1,850 liters (489 U.S. gallons).

The company notes that square and rectangular models may bow outward slightly after filling. Depending on the model, wall deviation of roughly 10 to 30 cm (4–12 in) is considered normal and is not regarded as a defect.

Filtration and accessories

Filter pumps are sold separately, but every Ondaflo pool is compatible with standard above-ground pool filtration systems. The company recommends Intex cartridge pumps and Intex Krystal Clear sand filter pumps, both available through its online store.

As a general guideline, the pump should circulate the pool’s entire water volume within three to four hours. For example, a 6,000-liter pool should use a pump rated at approximately 1,500–2,000 liters per hour.

Ondaflo Inflatable Pools Drop-Stitch PVC Walls
he 15 cm (6 in) thick Drop-Stitch PVC walls provide rigidity while allowing the pool to deflate for compact storage and transport.

Ondaflo also offers a selection of accessories, including:

  • Bayrol water-treatment chemicals
  • Rubber cleaning brush
  • Debris net
  • Telescopic pole
  • Safety ladder compatible with all models

Safety and intended use

The pools comply with European domestic swimming pool standards PN-EN 16582-1 and PN-EN 16582-3 and are intended for private, above-ground residential use.

They are not designed for saltwater use or for permanent in-ground or semi-permanent installation.

Things to consider

Although the pools are portable, the larger models still require a substantial amount of space and water. The flagship 4.5 m pool holds 13,300 liters (3,514 gallons), so users should ensure the chosen surface can safely support the filled weight and that adequate water access is available.

Because there is no rigid external frame, square and rectangular pools may show some outward wall movement under water pressure, which the company says is an expected characteristic of the design.

A filtration pump is also a separate purchase, making it an additional cost for buyers planning to keep water in the pool over multiple days.

Ondaflo Inflatable Pools Filtration System
Every Ondaflo pool is compatible with standard above-ground pool filtration systems and can be paired with optional pumps and maintenance accessories.
