China’s e-mobility specialist InMotion has introduced a new electric unicycle, dubbed the Adventure model, after a year of research and development. Designed to “push the boundaries of exploration,” this new entry in the burgeoning electric unicycle market promises an array of features aimed at performance, speed, and convenience.
The power under the hood
At the core of the Adventure model is a robust 4,000-W off-road motor. What makes this particularly notable is that the motor can peak at an astonishing 9,000 watts, or possibly even higher. The power output enables riders to effortlessly climb steep 50% inclines, thanks to 200 Nm (147.5 lb.ft) of torque and 850 N of traction force at the wheel. This makes the Adventure electric unicycle one of the most potent options for off-road enthusiasts who find themselves tackling hills and rough terrains.
Speed and performance
In terms of speed, the Adventure model isn’t slacking either. On level ground, it can achieve speeds of up to 110 km/h (68.35 mph) and go from a standstill to 50 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. While this might not quite match the top speed of InMotion’s V13 Challenger, which boasts a 140 km/h top speed, it offers a more than sufficient adrenaline rush for the average rider. Two ride modes are available: Comfort Mode for prolonged battery life and Sport Mode for high power and responsiveness. Riders can easily switch between these modes using a companion app.
Battery life and charging
The Adventure model houses four batteries surrounding the wheel, which can be removed from the frame in approximately 10 minutes without the need to dismantle the controller. These batteries have a reported capacity of 2,400-mAh and feature smart battery management that can monitor each cell in real-time. According to InMotion, this should provide riders with a range of around 120 km (~75 miles) on a single charge. If you’re in a rush, fast charging can top up the battery to 80% capacity within an hour.

Design and durability
The 16-inch wheel is furnished with 3-inch-wide chunky tires to provide optimal grip and stability on challenging terrains. The wheel assembly is waterproof to IPX6 standards, and the battery is sealed to IPX7 standards, ensuring the unicycle is well-equipped to handle water hazards or unexpected rainfall.
Additionally, the Adventure model features InMotion’s “exclusive custom progressive spring,” offering a comfortable ride with eight levels of rebound damping and 17 levels of compression damping. This allows riders to fine-tune the setup based on their weight and riding style. The unicycle also comes with larger anti-slip footplates and a 1,500-lumen headlight with adjustable intensity, as well as “automotive-grade” tail-lights.

Pricing information
InMotion has announced an “early bird” retail price of $3,299 for the Adventure model. However, there is no confirmation on availability at this point.
All in all, the Adventure model from InMotion represents a leap forward in electric unicycle technology, offering a potent blend of power, speed, and ruggedness for off-road explorers. With its bevy of features and customizable options, this electric unicycle is poised to be a game-changer for both leisure and extreme riders alike.
