The Beauer 3X is a compact caravan designed to offer the convenience of a small towable unit with the comfort of a full-sized interior. Built on a telescopic, slide-out design, it expands from a compact pod into a three-module living space in under 60 seconds.
When closed, the camper maintains a slim, aerodynamic profile ideal for easy towing behind most vehicles. Once parked, the sides extend outward using an integrated mechanism, tripling the internal floor space without requiring any disassembly or manual setup of the furniture. This expansion transforms the camper into a full living area that includes a bedroom, dining space, and lounge.
What makes the interior layout unique is its self-unfolding design. The furniture—including the dining area, sofa, and double bed—folds and shifts automatically into position as the structure expands. Users don’t need to remove or store furniture separately before closing it back down. This is especially useful for quick setup and pack-down during multi-stop road trips.
Meanwhile, the kitchen and bathroom are located in the fixed central module and remain stationary during the expansion and contraction process. This means that key utility connections, plumbing, and fittings stay in place, ensuring functionality is maintained regardless of the camper’s configuration.
The expanded layout offers approximately 12 square meters (about 129 square feet) of living space—suitable for two adults and a child. It includes essentials like a kitchenette with sink and cooktop, a small bathroom, and sleeping and seating arrangements. Heating, insulation, and modular customization options are available depending on the buyer’s region or intended use.
Originally developed in France, the Beauer 3X has been shown at caravan and RV events across Europe and draws attention for its telescoping design and efficient use of space. According to the manufacturer’s pricing, the base model of the 3X starts from €29,990 (around $35,200) and offers 12 m² of living space suitable for up to four people, with additional options such as heating, exterior blinds, or air conditioning available at extra cost.
