There’s a particular kind of travel fatigue that sets in not during the journey, but right after it — when you finally reach your room and face the task of unpacking a suitcase onto a tiny luggage rack or digging through a bag every time you need something. A Swiss startup called CASYRO is trying to eliminate that problem entirely with a suitcase that opens vertically like a wardrobe, letting you access everything inside without laying the bag flat or taking anything out.
The concept is simple enough to explain in a single sentence: you roll it in, prop it against the wall, unzip it, and it opens upward to reveal an organized interior you can browse and use directly — the same way you’d use a closet or wardrobe. CASYRO calls it a “Schrankkoffer,” which translates roughly to “wardrobe suitcase,” and the brand positions it as a way to live out of your bag without the disorder that phrase usually implies.
The product is designed and patented in Switzerland by Inveno AG, and it comes in three sizes to cover everything from a weekend carry-on to a multi-week trip.
What it is and how it works
The CASYRO suitcase is a hard-shell case built from a polycarbonate exterior, with an interior lined in nylon, mesh, and polyester. What makes it different from a standard suitcase is its opening mechanism — rather than the traditional clamshell layout that splits the case in two halves when laid on its back, the CASYRO opens upward from the front when stood upright.

The result is that the suitcase functions like a small freestanding wardrobe. Multiple compartments, pockets, and organizer sections are visible and accessible at once, without rummaging or restacking. Clothes, toiletries, and accessories can stay in their designated spots throughout the trip rather than being moved in and out of a pile.
Three sizes, three use cases
CASYRO currently offers three sizes, each targeting a different type of trip.
The S model is the carry-on-compatible option, measuring 34 cm wide, 23 cm deep, and 55 cm tall, and weighing 3.55 kg. Its volume of 45 liters makes it suited for short trips where checking a bag isn’t worth the hassle.
The M comes in at 42 cm wide, 28 cm deep, and 70.5 cm tall, with a volume of 80 liters and a weight of 4.95 kg. CASYRO recommends it for trips of one to two weeks.
The L is the largest option, at 50 cm wide, 30.5 cm deep, and 77.5 cm tall. It holds 120 liters and weighs 5.9 kg, making it the right fit for longer journeys of two weeks or more.

All three sizes include an integrated TSA lock — which allows airport security in the US and other countries to open and inspect the bag without cutting it — and come with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Materials and build
The hard polycarbonate shell is a standard choice for durable travel luggage, offering impact resistance while staying relatively lightweight. The interior uses a combination of nylon fabric, mesh panels, and polyester — materials that hold their shape and allow visibility into different compartments without needing to empty everything out.
The padded laptop compartment is a notable feature for business travelers who need to carry tech gear without dedicating a separate bag to it.
Who it’s for
The stand-up wardrobe format makes the most sense for travelers who stay in one place for multiple nights — business travelers rotating through hotel rooms, vacationers on longer trips, or anyone doing extended stays in apartments or rental accommodations. The less you’re moving between locations, the more useful it is to have a suitcase that functions as a temporary closet rather than a pile to be re-sorted each night.
For travelers who change locations daily, a traditional suitcase or backpack may still be more practical. But for the growing segment of people who travel for work regularly or take longer holidays, the ability to skip unpacking entirely has obvious appeal.
Pricing and availability
The CASYRO suitcase is available through the brand’s official website at casyro.ch, as well as through Swiss retailers including Brack and Galaxus. The S model is priced at CHF 229 / €229, the M at CHF 259 / €259, and the L at CHF 289 / €289. Both the M and L are available in black and rose gold, while the S currently comes in black only.
