Arizona-based e-bike manufacturer Lectric has refreshed its popular XP Trike model with a new generation that brings improvements in power, range, and comfort—without increasing the starting price. The updated XP Trike2 is now available in two variants, catering to riders who prioritize either budget-friendly commuting or enhanced performance.
Originally launched two years ago, the XP Trike quickly became the best-selling electric tricycle in the U.S., capturing over 80% of all adult trike sales. Its appeal stemmed from its stability, ease of use, and affordable price point. “When we launched the XP Trike two years ago, we knew our riding community would like it since it was the most requested model at the time,” said Lectric co-founder and CEO Levi Conlow. “But we had no idea how many riders across America would totally dig it.”
Now, with the release of the XP Trike2, Lectric aims to build on that success by offering riders more options. There are two models: a standard version with key upgrades over the original, and a premium 750-Watt version that features a significant performance boost.
Performance and Power Upgrades
The higher-end XP Trike2 750 is equipped with a more robust M24 Stealth motor rated at 750 watts, with a peak output of 1,310 watts. Torque has also increased from 65 Nm to 85 Nm (62.69 lb.ft), providing better acceleration and hill-climbing ability. The top pedal-assist speed rises from 14 mph (22.5 km/h) in the standard model to 17 mph (27.4 km/h) in the 750 version.

Both trikes offer five levels of pedal assist. However, while the standard model retains its cadence sensor, the 750 version introduces a “Quick Switch” feature. This allows riders to toggle between cadence and Lectric’s in-house torque sensor system, which offers a “more natural, responsive feel” while riding. A half-twist throttle also enables riders to cruise without pedaling.
Extended Range and Battery Options
Range is another area of improvement. The standard XP Trike2 continues with a 624-Wh Li-ion battery, offering a per-charge range of up to 50 miles (80.5 km). The XP Trike2 750, on the other hand, gets an 840-Wh battery capable of delivering up to 70 miles (112.6 km) on a single charge—20 more miles than the standard version. Both models are compatible with an optional 5-amp fast charger for quicker top-ups.

Enhanced Frame and Safety Features
Lectric has redesigned the frame for the second generation, using hydroformed aluminum with a reinforced downtube to improve overall stability. A low step-over height of 13.8 inches (35 cm) makes mounting and dismounting easier for riders of all ages and abilities.
Both models ride on 20-inch wheels equipped with puncture-resistant tires featuring improved tread patterns. According to Lectric, this change helps riders “turn on a dime.” Hydraulic disc brakes with 180-mm rotors have been retained, but now come from Star Union and include a new parking brake system for added safety.

To make the XP Trike2 more beginner-friendly, Lectric has included a “beginner mode” that limits the top assisted speed to 5 mph (8 km/h). Riders can unlock the higher speeds once they’re comfortable handling the trike.
A front suspension fork offering 50 mm of travel helps cushion the ride across uneven surfaces. The rear rack, integrated into the frame, is capable of supporting loads up to 75 lb (34 kg), making it practical for groceries, gear, or even pets with an optional carrier.

Visibility, Display, and Durability
New polypropylene fenders are more resistant to damage and help keep water and debris away from the rider. The trikes also gain upgraded lighting, including integrated turn signals and hazard lights, complementing the headlight and tail-light system.
For improved usability, Lectric has replaced the monochrome screen with a detachable 3.5-inch color display, allowing riders to better monitor speed, distance, battery level, and other key metrics at a glance.

Pricing, Availability, and Certification
Both XP Trike2 variants are UL-certified for safety and will be offered in multiple colorways—three at launch for the standard model and six for the 750-Watt version.
The 500-Watt XP Trike2 is now available for pre-order at a price of $1,499, with shipping scheduled to begin in the last week of July. The more powerful XP Trike2 750 will be available in September, with a base price of $1,799, although Lectric has indicated that limited-time launch offers may temporarily reduce the cost.
