Async, a mobility startup, has been working on a unique and visually impressive ebike for the past year, dubbed the A1 Pro. Designed for versatility, the A1 Pro can function as a Class-compliant urban ride or tackle off-road adventures with its all-terrain tires and full suspension. Regardless of how it’s used, the Async A1 Pro ebike boasts an impressive 150-mile battery range.
The company cheekily addressed those who consider riding an ebike as cheating by stating, “We agreed, and decided to make cheating easy and stylish.”
The A1 Pro features a sleek, streamlined design reminiscent of the 2021 Vinci model. Its thick top tube houses an integrated 300-lumen LED headlight and rear LED braking tail-light. The bike also includes a 1.8-inch-thick padded seat and a long-range battery. Capable of supporting up to 330 lb (150 kg), the A1 Pro can accommodate riders between 5.4 and 6.4 ft (1.65 – 1.95 m) in height.
Equipped with a powerful 1,200-W hub motor (2,500 W peak), the all-terrain electric moped delivers 70 lb.ft (95 Nm) of torque and can reach a top speed of 35 mph (56 km/h) in off-road-only PAS/throttle mode. The motor can also be locked to Class 1, 2, or 3 speeds for street use and features a low-maintenance belt drive.

The Async A1 Pro ebike utilizes a removable 1,920-Wh battery composed of Samsung 21700 cells, offering between 80 and 150 miles (128 – 241 km) of range per charge. An optional expansion kit enables fast charging and allows the battery to supply portable power for devices at home or while camping.
A 5.5-inch full-color digital dash mounted mid-handlebar allows riders to monitor speed and battery range. Additionally, the ebike is compatible with a companion smartphone app that serves as a digital key, provides GPS tracking and route planning, and offers access to ebike stats and ride history.

The A1 Pro’s adjustable suspension fork offers 120 mm of travel and is paired with a monoshock suspension hidden within the chunky mid-frame section, which connects to the rear swingarm. The bike is equipped with 20-inch wheels and 4-inch fat tires, providing excellent traction. Four-piston hydraulic brakes with a 203-mm rotor in the front and a 180-mm rotor in the rear ensure reliable stopping power.
Indiegogo perks for the Async A1 Pro ebike start at $2,399, with a less powerful standard version available for $1,899. Optional accessories, such as a rack set and extra batteries, are also offered. While the usual crowdfunding risks apply, the already funded campaign estimates shipping to begin in July if all goes according to plan. For more information, check out the video below.
