Tarform, the motorcycle company that created the bio-material sculpted Tarform Luna, has announced a new concept electric jet ski called Raye. The design ethos of the Luna has been translated into the Raye, which draws inspiration from biomorphism and mimics the glide of a manta ray. The jet ski’s glossy all-black exterior is designed to stand out in the sun and the electric watercraft glides easily through the water, offering a feeling of riding an electric motorcycle on the water.
The Tarform design team has focused on speed, backed by a minimalist design. They envision the Raye reaching a top speed of around 50mph, with instant torque and acceleration using electric waterjet propulsion. The company plans to use plant-based materials and modular technology for its electric jet ski, ensuring that the watercraft is lightweight and easy to maneuver.
The Tarform Raye will share technology with the company’s motorcycle series through over-the-air updates, machine learning, and sensors. The design team has also created a technologically connected interface that will send riders real-time updates on the speed, battery, and other features of the jet ski. Tarform plans to create two different power and range configurations for the Raye, with power output ranging from 70 to 120 horsepower. The bespoke model will start at $68,000 with a set of unique personal touches.
Tarform’s biomorphic design replicates the glide of a manta ray, and the design team is excited to unveil the concept electric jet ski. “Translating the experience of an electric motorcycle onto the water was the most natural extension to our vehicle lineup. The Tarform Raye is an electric jet ski that explores the biomorphic design and is inspired by the manta ray. We are excited to share that these are the first lines of the craft as we expand our design ethos into other realms,” Tarform writes.

Overall, the Tarform Raye promises to be an exciting addition to the world of electric watercraft. With its biomorphic design, modular technology, and technologically connected interface, the Raye represents a new era in jet ski design. The company has not announced a release date for the Raye, but the announcement has generated significant interest and excitement among jet ski enthusiasts. Tarform’s vision of creating the most beautiful machines for all environments, from the road to the ocean and ultimately the air, appears to be coming to fruition.
