Hobie has added an unusual entry to its inflatable lineup: the Mirage iTrek Fiesta, a four-person kayak that seats a whole group, steers from a single station, and moves under pedal power rather than paddles. The California watercraft maker, known for its MirageDrive pedal system, pitches the Fiesta as a social craft — in the company’s own words, “It’s a Party on the Water!”
The concept sets it apart from typical inflatable kayaks. Most are built for one or two paddlers. The Fiesta carries four people in elevated seats, each with their own pedal drive, while one person handles steering for the entire boat. Hobie describes it as “the most unique watercraft on the market today.”
Pedal power, hands-free
The Fiesta runs on four MirageDrive GT units with Glide Technology and Kick-Up Fins — Hobie’s pedal-drive system, in which a rider’s leg motion swings underwater fins to push the boat forward. Because propulsion comes from the legs, the hands stay free, which Hobie sums up as the ability to “power forward virtually hands-free.” With four people pedaling at once, the craft is designed to move at a decent clip.
The Kick-Up Fins are a practical touch for shallow or debris-strewn water. They are built to fold back on impact rather than snap, which the company frames bluntly: “Our Patented Kick-Up Fins provide the power to charge through the water as never before. Logs, kelp, shallows, rocks, no problem.” Steering comes from a detachable rudder system that can be set up for right- or left-handed control.

Built to stay rigid
Holding four adults steady calls for a stiff hull. Hobie builds the Fiesta from 550-denier, triple-chamber construction with a diagonal drop-stitch floor and an EVA deck pad. According to the company, that construction “delivers the same stability and rugged rigidity as a solid boat, but in a lighter package.” Locking valves and a 550-denier PVC hull round out the build.
One of the more flexible features is the seating. The four aluminum-frame seats use breathable mesh, and the front two can be rotated to face the rear, creating an integrated social seating arrangement for hanging out, playing games, or relaxing with feet up while drifting. Each seat has a mounted cup holder, and there is a rear cargo area with bungee tie-downs, plus carry handles at the side and rear.
Specifications
The Fiesta measures 15 feet long (4.57 m) and 80 inches wide (2.03 m), giving it the broad, stable footprint needed for four occupants. It has a rated capacity of 1,000 pounds (453.6 kg). The fitted hull weighs 78 pounds (35.4 kg), rising to 105 pounds (47.63 kg) fully rigged. Deflated and packed, it fits in a rolling storage bag measuring 59 by 43.3 by 15.75 inches (150 by 110 by 40 cm), fitted with an extension handle for transport. It is offered in a single color, Slate Blue.
The package includes the four seats, four MirageDrives with Glide Technology and Kick-Up Fins, a three-piece SUP paddle, a high-pressure hand pump, a high-volume electric pump, and the storage bag.

Practical context and limitations
The Fiesta occupies a specific niche: group outings on calm lakes, bays, and slow rivers, where its width, social seating, and four-person pedal power make sense. That same size is the main trade-off. At 80 inches wide and over 100 pounds rigged, it is bulkier and heavier than a solo inflatable, and inflating a craft this large takes time even with the included electric pump — which is why Hobie packs one in. It is also a premium product rather than an entry-level inflatable, so the price reflects the four built-in drive units and seats.
Pricing and availability
Hobie lists the Mirage iTrek Fiesta at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$5,949, excluding taxes, shipping, and any setup fees.
Hobie sells through a global dealer network rather than direct checkout on the product page, so buyers locate a local dealer to purchase and confirm regional pricing and availability. The boat ships with the full set of included accessories listed above.
For families or groups who want everyone aboard one craft — and everyone contributing to the pedaling — the Fiesta is one of the few purpose-built options of its kind. As Hobie puts it: “Let’s get this party started!”
