iPoolGo’s drop-stitch pools bring hard-sided rigidity to an inflatable frame

Inflatable backyard pools have a reputation for being floppy, short-lived, and a little flimsy. iPoolGo is part of a growing category trying to change that, using a fabric technology called drop-stitch to build inflatable pools that stand rigid and hold their shape under a full load of water — closer to a hard-sided pool than a traditional vinyl ring pool.

The company’s products, shown set up in backyards and on commercial rooftops, range from round and rectangular swimming pools to ice baths and hot tubs. What they share is the underlying construction method that gives the walls their stiffness.

How drop-stitch construction works

A drop-stitch pool is built from two fabric layers connected internally by thousands of fine polyester threads running vertically between them. When the chamber is inflated to high pressure, those threads hold the top and bottom surfaces a fixed distance apart, so the wall stays flat and firm instead of ballooning. The result behaves like a portable hard-sided pool rather than a soft inflatable.

This is the same family of technology used in stand-up paddleboards, scaled up to pool-sized walls. According to industry references, genuine drop-stitch pools rely on high inflation pressure — generally in the 8 to 15 psi range, or roughly 0.55 to 1.03 bar — to keep the walls taut, and iPoolGo states its double-wall fabric inflates to a maximum of 15 psi (about 1.03 bar).

Materials and specifications

iPoolGo lists its pools as made from PVC combined with a reinforced polyester drop-stitch fabric, in a color the company designates “Blue 631.” The published technical figures include a breaking strength of 3,000 newtons (roughly 674 pounds of force) and a temperature resistance range of -20°C to 80°C, which works out to -4°F to 176°F.

iPoolGo Pool Uses
Unlike permanent installations, these pools can be deflated and stored when not in use, making them an option for renters, seasonal users, and temporary venues.

The wall thickness is offered in eight options, listed in centimeters with their inch equivalents: 5 cm (about 2.0 inches), 8 cm (3.1 inches), 10 cm (3.9 inches), 12 cm (4.7 inches), 15 cm (5.9 inches), 20 cm (7.9 inches), 30 cm (11.8 inches), and 50 cm (19.7 inches). Sizing starts at 100 cm (about 3.3 feet, or 39 inches) and extends to custom dimensions, with the company describing its range as “100 to any size.” The pool body can be customized with a logo, material color, or a UV-printed image. The ice-bath models use 8 cm walls — again, about 3.1 inches — in a round form.

iPoolGo also promotes a newer TPU drop-stitch material as an alternative to PVC, describing it as “an extremely degradable, environment friendly, PVC free material.” The company says the TPU version is up to 30% lighter than PVC drop-stitch and packs down into about 20% less space when rolled up, while being safe for direct skin contact.

Practical context and limitations

The appeal of a drop-stitch pool is straightforward: it sets up without digging, permits, or permanent installation, and folds down compactly for off-season storage — useful for renters, urban yards, and RV owners. The trade-off is that high-pressure pools require a capable pump to reach and hold the necessary pressure, and underinflation leads to sagging walls. These are also premium products rather than the inexpensive ring pools sold at big-box stores, so buyers should expect a corresponding price and weight.

Pricing and availability

At the time of writing, the company’s rectangular inflatable pool package, which includes an electric air pump and repair kit, was listed at US$2,499 for the 10 ft × 6.6 ft × 4 ft (3 m × 2 m × 1.22 m) version. Larger sizes command higher prices, with the 20 ft × 10 ft × 4 ft (6 m × 3 m × 1.22 m) model listed at US$4,699.

iPoolGo Pool Sizes
Available in sizes up to 20 feet long, iPoolGo’s drop-stitch pools combine the portability of an inflatable structure with the stability of a hard-sided pool.

The pool is offered in several sizes, including:

  • 10 ft × 6.6 ft × 4 ft (3 m × 2 m × 1.22 m)
  • 13 ft × 10 ft × 4 ft (4 m × 3 m × 1.22 m)
  • 16.5 ft × 10 ft × 4 ft (5 m × 3 m × 1.22 m)
  • 20 ft × 10 ft × 4 ft (6 m × 3 m × 1.22 m)

The company also advertises worldwide delivery and a one-year warranty. Pricing varies based on size and configuration, and some of iPoolGo’s custom pool and spa products continue to be sold on a quotation basis, particularly for bespoke installations and bulk orders.

For buyers in the U.S. and other international markets, it is advisable to confirm current pricing, shipping costs, and included accessories directly with iPoolGo or an authorized distributor, as specifications and package contents may vary between models.
