The XTURISMO sounds like something out of a science fiction movie; a flying hoverbike. Made out of an accumulation of drone technologies, the flying bike aims to provide solutions to both crumbling infrastructure, as well as innovation in air mobility.

The company behind the XTURISMO

The minds behind the innovative flying bike are a group of students at the University of Tokyo. The group formed a small start up, now called A.L.I Technologies in order to develop and sell drones. The goal of their company? Make urban air travel a reality.

The company recognized that due to a fairly unevolved legal system for air travel, they needed to shift their initial goal for the XTURISMO to first hovering over public roads rather than flying high in the air. In the future, they even aim to create a hover car, once hoverbikes are publicly accepted modes of travel.

Practical uses

The basic goal of the XTURISMO is for it to be used in replacement of cars for urban travel. The flying bike may also be used for short personal air travel flights. The company also foresees it as being used in search and rescue missions and even in disaster relief efforts.

Distinct features of XTURISMO

There are many different qualities that make this flying hoverbike unique and innovative.

Size: The hoverbike has a weight of 300 kg making it fairly lightweight than even the smallest cars. It has a length of 3.7 m, an overall width of 2.4 m, and a height of 1.5 m.

Speed and endurance: The XTURISMO hoverbike can fly for 40 minutes with a top speed of up to 62 miles per hour.

Safety feautures: The XTURISMO is equipped with a variety of different safety devices and software. It includes: 3D control systems and air route designs, blockchain platforms, sensors to keep it in urban airspace, localization and mapping controls.

Futuristic look

The flying bike has propellers similar to those of drones and helicopters. The vehicle resembles a sort of motorcycle/snowmobile hybrid, with propellers on the front and back, as well as on the sides of the XTURISMO. The design is compact, and the appearance of the vehicle is sleek and bold.

Purchasing your own XTURISMO hoverbike

The XTURISMO is currently available for purchase from Aerwins via their official website. Aerwins is the parent organization of A.L.I. Technologies and their goal is to pursue and implement new technologies in order to lead the world in “air mobility revolution.”
