GoBoat’s inflatable electric boats fit in a car trunk and launch almost anywhere

Most small boats come with a familiar list of requirements: a trailer, storage space, a roof rack, a dock, or at the very least a dedicated spot in the garage. GoBoat takes a very different approach. The company has built an entire lineup of inflatable electric boats designed to pack into a wheeled backpack, fit in the trunk of a car, and launch almost anywhere there’s water nearby.

At first glance, the GoBoat looks more like a floating lounge chair than a traditional boat. The circular inflatable design combines a drop-stitch deck, an integrated electric motor system, and a removable seat into a compact watercraft that can be carried, inflated, and launched by a single person. Yet despite its unusual appearance, the company says the design is intended for much more than casual floating.

The GoBoat lineup currently includes both single-person and two-person models, along with fishing-focused versions and larger bundled packages that include accessories, batteries, pumps, canopies, and floating docks. Prices in the United States currently start at $1,999 for the standard single-person models and reach $3,699 for the fully equipped adventure bundles.

Built around portability

The defining feature of the GoBoat is portability. Unlike traditional aluminum fishing boats, kayaks, or pontoons, the inflatable hull deflates and stores in a wheeled carry bag. The company positions it as a boat that can live in a closet or car trunk rather than occupying permanent storage space.

The hull is constructed from what GoBoat calls Armorlite composite material, while the deck uses a rigid drop-stitch design similar to high-end inflatable paddleboards. Once inflated, the platform becomes surprisingly rigid and wide, creating a circular footprint that prioritizes stability over speed.

The boats are powered by a 12-volt electric trolling-style motor rated at 35 pounds of thrust. According to GoBoat, the system can propel the craft at speeds of up to 5 mph (8 km/h), with multiple forward and reverse speed settings available.

Single-person models start at $1,999

GoBoat currently sells two primary single-person versions in the U.S. lineup: the Freedom and the Fish.

Both models are listed at $1,999 and share the same overall platform concept. The Freedom is positioned as a recreational cruising model, while the Fish is configured more specifically for anglers, with mounting points and accessory compatibility aimed at fishing gear.

The company emphasizes that the circular hull design allows users to sit, stand, fish, relax, or move around the deck without the feeling of instability typically associated with smaller inflatables. Storage bungees, accessory rails, and modular mounting points allow owners to customize the setup depending on how they intend to use the boat.

Four different two-person models

The most interesting part of the lineup may be the larger two-person boats.

GoBoat currently offers the Double Freedom, Double Fish, Double Sunset, and Double Wave models, each listed at $2,699 in the United States.

These larger versions use an elongated platform and wider seating arrangement designed for two occupants. The Double Freedom, for example, is rated for up to 450 lbs (204 kg) of combined passenger weight and measures roughly 70 x 90 inches when inflated.

The larger platform also receives dual fins for improved tracking and directional stability. Despite the increased size, the company still markets the boats as trailer-free watercraft that can be transported in a passenger vehicle and stored at home.

GoBoat describes these models as suitable for family outings, casual cruising, fishing trips, beach excursions, and even bumper-boat-style recreation.

Bundles add canopies, coolers, pumps, and batteries

Beyond the standalone boats, GoBoat also offers several bundle packages aimed at buyers who want a complete setup.

The Ready Bundles are priced at $2,999 and include upgrades such as a canopy, cooler, electric pump, and cup holder. Models currently available include the Ready Double Freedom, Ready Double Wave, and Ready Double Sunset.

At the top of the range are the Adventurer Bundles, which cost $3,699. These packages add a lithium battery, Bluetooth speaker, floating dock, storage accessories, cooler, canopy, electric pump, and additional onboard gear.

The company’s Master Angler bundle is similarly positioned as a premium fishing-focused package.

Designed as a modular platform

One of GoBoat’s biggest selling points is the growing ecosystem of accessories.

Owners can add rod holders, anchor kits, canopies, floating docks, cup holders, phone mounts, covers, and even pet-focused accessories. The company also sells floating dock systems including the X-Dock, Mini Dock, and Dog Dock, each priced at $350.

The boats use accessory rails and mounting points that allow equipment to be attached without permanent modifications. Fishing electronics, storage systems, and additional gear can also be integrated depending on the user’s setup.

Pricing and availability

According to GoBoat’s official website, the current U.S. lineup includes:
Freedom — $1,999
Fish — $1,999
Double Freedom — $2,699
Double Fish — $2,699
Double Sunset — $2,699
Double Wave — $2,699
Ready Bundles — $2,999
Adventurer Bundles — $3,699

The company currently offers free shipping within the United States on orders above $1,500, meaning every GoBoat model qualifies. Several models are listed as in stock and available for immediate shipment, while certain accessories and seating products occasionally appear as pre-orders or sold-out items depending on inventory levels.

For buyers looking for something between a kayak, a small fishing boat, and a floating lounge platform, GoBoat is trying to carve out an unusual category of its own. Instead of focusing on speed or long-distance travel, the company has built its lineup around portability, stability, and convenience — creating electric boats that can be carried in a backpack and launched without a trailer, ramp, or dedicated storage space.
